Welcome to Day 13 of the 25 Day Success Challenge

If you don’t know who Tony Robbins is, you should look him up on YouTube. One of the greatest ideas I learned from Tony is that “Success leaves clues.”

Tony teaches that you can learn the strategies which helped someone else to achieve success. Then you can do the same thing!

Therefore, if you want to achieve success, a fast route to your success can be to model those who have already succeeded. Now, I know you might be thinking that’s a load of old cobbles, but please bear with me on this.

One of the reasons why I designed the 25 Day Success Challenge is so you can model what has worked for me, and what I have learned from 30 plus years in business. I believe in the principle of Modeling Success, and I feel you can benefit from this principle too.

Modelling successful people has been crucial in my life over the last decade. It has given me much more focus and direction. And helped me avoid costly mistakes through trial and error.

To be honest with you though, it wasn’t always like this. And I often ploughed straight in without thinking about modelling someone successful.

In my first days of internet marketing, I had never heard of a ‘guru’, and definitely never heard about the concept of ‘Modelling Success’. My first internet business back in 1995 was total trial and error. I was living in America at the time, and had no green card so I couldn’t work. My girlfriend was going to law school every day, so I was home alone, trying to make my time the most productive.

Actually, the main business I was starting at that time was a custom playing card business, although that turned out a flop and didn’t get even off the ground. Flip forward a few years, and this is when I came across the concept of ‘Modelling Success’.

But I Don’t Know Any Millionaires

This is the first thought I had when I first discovered this concept. So how can I model how they live, how they do business?

I’m sure there are hundreds of ways you can model success, but today I want to show you a few ways I have worked out to follow the modelling success principle.

I think it all comes down to conditioning your mind and then your actions. The first place anything starts is from your mind. So I’ve found it effective to keep your mind strong, keep positive and block out any negative thoughts. This is why I showed you the importance of doing your incantations with your morning rituals on Day 2.

There are other ways of conditioning your thoughts like reading positive affirmations and visualizing positive outcomes. I have tried this, but I don’t think affirmations are as powerful as incantations. But they are better than doing nothing. You should give them a try after the 25 Day Success Challenge. Please let me know how you go with them.

In many of life’s tough situations, conditioning your mind can be very effective. Especially when your weak thoughts are the basis of your problems.

There are a lot of people who fail before they’ve even started by using phrases like “I can’t”, “it’s gonna be too difficult”, “it’s easy for him”.

I have read enough books and especially biographies over the years to know that a lot of the most successful people in life, make sure they shut out their negative thoughts. So if you are serious about modeling success, your morning incantations will be a big part of strengthening your mind.

The next part of Modelling Success, in my experience, is about developing strong habits. There are many marketing and success gurus who swear by goal setting and planning.

I’ll be covering goal setting in the days ahead so I won’t discuss it here. But by knowing what is the most important thing you need to do every day, and then making sure you get it done, it supremely important for your success.

Master this skill and you will achieve more in one month than your competitors will achieve all year or more.

Goal setting and being productive are definitely skills you can model from the masters. And in the next few days during the 25 Day Success Challenge I will show you how.

I have used the skill of mind conditioning and controlling my actions with great success over the last few years. And I can show you how to get real success too. Plus you can get better and better if you follow the strategies I am going to show you.

Without a proven model for success you will face a much harder road to your success.

Your Task For Today:

Write down a list of 5 to 10 people you know, or know of who you think you can model. Is there a local businessman in your area who you would like to meet?  Think about why you think they are successful. Do they do anything you know of which helps them succeed?

Final Thoughts On Modelling Success

Ok, I have to wrap this up now as I have to give a neighbour a lift to the hospital in about 20 mins…

Look, the fact is modelling successful individuals can significantly accelerate your entrepreneurial journey. Here is a brief summary why:

Learn from Experience

Successful people have experiences you can learn from, including both their victories and their failures. By understanding the paths they’ve taken, you can avoid making the same mistakes and apply the strategies that have worked for them.

Your Shortcut to Success

Successful individuals have often spent years, if not decades, honing their skills and refining their approaches. By modelling their behaviours, attitudes, and strategies, you can benefit from their hard-won wisdom, bypassing some of the lengthy trial-and-error that they went through.

Inspiration and Motivation

Seeing someone who has achieved what you aspire to can be incredibly motivating. Their stories can inspire you to push through challenges and remind you of what’s possible.

Expand Your Network

By aligning yourself with successful people, you can expand your professional network. These individuals can introduce you to other influential people, potential partners, or even customers.

Develop A Success Mindset

Successful people often share similar mindsets, such as resilience, a growth mindset, a commitment to continuous learning, and a focus on goals. By modelling these mindsets, you can cultivate the attitudes that contribute to success.

Skill Development

Successful people often have a set of skills that have contributed to their success. By studying and modelling these individuals, you can identify and develop these crucial skills faster.

Cultural Understanding

If you’re trying to succeed in a specific industry, successful people within that industry will have a deep understanding of its culture. By modeling these individuals, you can better navigate the unique aspects of the industry.

Validate Your Ideas

If a successful person is employing a particular strategy or idea, it can provide some validation that the idea works. While it’s not a guarantee of success (as success also depends on execution and many other factors), it can provide a level of confidence.

Remember, while modelling successful people can provide valuable insights, it’s also important to maintain your uniqueness. Basically, don’t go flat out and copy everything your favourite successful person does or creates.

Your path to success may not look exactly like anyone else’s, and that’s okay. Learn from others, but also listen to your intuition and stay true to your values and vision.
